Open Enrollment

The Open Enrollment Application Period for the 2019-20 School Year is February 4 – April 30, 2019

The open enrollment program is a statewide program that allows students to attend a public school in a district other than the one in which they reside, if space is available. Parents/guardians must submit an application between midnight February 4 until 4pm on April 30, 2019. Visit the DPI Open Enrollment homepage to apply or review the 2019-20 Open Enrollment brochure.

The School Board will declare seats available at its meeting on Thursday, January 17. This webpage will be updated after that time with what seats are available at which grade levels and for what programs.

How do you apply?
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Open Enrollment application process is now online. Online applications are automatically sent directly to resident and nonresident school districts as well as the DPI.

Those who do not have access to a computer may request paper applications from any school district. Paper applications must be sent to the nonresident school district(s) to which you are applying within the application period.

Please do not submit both paper and online applications. No other documents are required at the time of application.

Should we still apply if there are no seats open at the grade level(s) of my children?
Yes--all students who apply will be a part of the lottery process and since districts must declare open seats in January, often additional seats become available over the summer months.
