Director of Special Education

I am delighted to serve as the Director of Special Education for the Swallow School District. I began my education career in 1999 as a special education teacher in the elementary and middle school setting for four years. I received my Masters in School Counseling at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and began that part of my career in 2003 at Waukesha North High School. I then received my certification in administration at Marian University (principal, director of pupil services, and director of curriculum and Instruction) and served as an assistant principal in the School District of Greenfield. I recently completed the superintendent program at Concordia University.

In addition to my educational career, I am a certified Crisis Prevention Intervention trainer and Love and Logic facilitator. I train teaching staff non-violent crisis interventions and physical restraint protocols. I co-facilitate Parenting with Love and Logic classes on an annual basis at the Arrowhead feeder schools and/or community organizations.

I am also a proud parent of two children. I have a daughter Lucy and son Nikhil who attend Swallow School. My interests include golfing, exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Special Education Teacher

Holly Heard joined our staff in 2014 after teaching Middle School Special Education in the Wauwatosa School District for two years. Prior to taking on her teaching responsibilities in Wauwatosa, Holly worked in the golf industry planning private and corporate events in California and locally at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex.

Holly graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2008 where she received a dual certification in General Education and Cross Categorical Special Education. While attending UW-Oshkosh Holly was inducted to the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society. Holly is passionate about mentoring and creating students who are accountable, organized and prepared for whatever life brings their way.

When not teaching, Holly enjoys spending time with her family, baking, playing golf, snowboarding and staying involved with the family’s Dance Studio in Menomonee Falls where she has taught dance classes for students ranging in age from three to eighteen, and currently provides administrative support.

Speech/Language Pathologist

Hi! My name is Sarah Sarchet. I am the speech therapist at Swallow School and work with students beginning at age three all the way up to 8th grade. I am in my 13th year at Swallow. I actually attended Swallow School from kindergarten through 8th grade. It is amazing how it has grown and changed, but also wonderful how the passion for learning and commitment by the staff, families, and students has stayed the same.

I attended Arrowhead High School and then went on to Liberty University in Virginia and got my Bachelors in Psychology. I came back to Wisconsin and went to graduate school at Marquette University. I received my Masters of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. In addition, I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

I am married to a wonderful man, Jason, and have four precious children, Caden, Kylie, Cruz, and Kinley. We live in Hartland and this year all of my children also attend Swallow. We love spending time as a family. Besides being a speech therapist, mother, and wife, I also enjoy spending my time cooking, reading, and playing all kinds of sports.

Occupational Therapist

Hi! My name is Carla Frantl and I am the Occupational Therapist at Swallow School. I am currently in my 7th year at Swallow. Previously, I was the Occupational Therapist at Erin Elementary School.

I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 1999 with a BS degree in Occupational Therapy. I chose Occupational Therapy within the school system because I wanted to be a part of enhancing a student's ability to be successful in the learning environment. This includes working on handwriting and fine motor skills. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on a child’s face when they have been successful in achieving their OT goals.

I am married to Steve and we have two children. My daughter Alexis is a freshman in college and my son is a junior at Hartford Union High.
